Quote me a full price!!!

Hi everyone!

I guess there are things which I have to accept in life without asking a nagging question "why should it be like that?" Well, I know that my life would be easier this way, but it is not me and it will never be.

So, I decided to start this blog as a means of raising public awareness of government sanctioned rip-off of all Canadians. The purpose is simple: to start seeing price tags that will tell me what I am to pay at the end. I am perfectly aware that, depending on the province whatever quoted at the cost of 99 cents is in reality 1.07 (Alberta) or 1.13 out of my pocket. I lived in Canada long enough to know that, but I still find it annoying/stupid and dishonest that we are led to believe that we are paying less than we in reality do. I am not advocating abolishing these taxes, I still have too much good faith in governments ability to put this money to a good use. What I advocate is out right to know what actually comes out of our pocket.

So, long story short, I would be starting a drive to sponsor a bill that would require all retailers and service providers to quote customers the full price. Why I think it is important? Simply because I question a wisdom necessity to do the math every time you go out shopping. Being informed about the final price to YOU is not a privilege, it is a right and I hope that with your help we will see it in place.
